Unrealistic Expectations

According to NPHET here in Ireland, restrictions can be eased once the number of “cases” drop below 100 per day. How realistic is this? Looking at our seven day moving average over the last year, “cases” rose above above 100 for the first time on the 22nd of March. There was a period where they were below 100 between the 21st of May and the 17th of August. Other than a one-day blip (on the 31st of August), “cases” have not been below 100 since then. Less than three months out of that last year would now be considered “safe” by NPHET and the Irish government. We all lived through this last year and know this to be absolute rubbish. More testing is being done at the moment, leading to more of these “cases”.
